3 Ways to Replace Missing Teeth with Restorative Dentistry

replace missing teeth, Chandler restorative dentist

Missing teeth can significantly impact your confidence, smile, oral health, and overall well-being. Fortunately, restorative dentistry offers various solutions to replace missing teeth, restoring both function and aesthetics. Whether you lost a tooth due to decay, trauma, or other reasons, seeking timely treatment is essential to prevent further complications. But what are some effective solutions to replace missing teeth

Dental Implants

Dental implants are considered the most advanced and reliable option for replacing missing teeth, especially when multiple teeth are affected. This innovative solution involves surgically placing a titanium post directly into the jawbone, effectively acting as a synthetic tooth root. After a healing period, during which the implant fuses with the jawbone in a process called osseointegration, a prosthetic tooth is attached to the implant.

Benefits of Dental Implants

  • Stability and Durability

Dental implants provide a sturdy foundation for replacement teeth, ensuring stability and longevity. They offer a level of strength and functionality comparable to natural teeth, allowing you to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

  • Dental Implants Preserve Bone Health

Implants stimulate the jawbone, preventing bone loss and maintaining facial structure. This prevents the sunken appearance that often accompanies long-term tooth loss.

  • They’re Aesthetically Pleasing

Dental implants closely resemble natural teeth. They are custom-made to match the color, shape, and size of your existing teeth, ensuring a natural and beautiful appearance.

Fixed Dental Bridges

Fixed dental bridges are an effective solution for replacing one or more missing teeth, particularly when dental implants are not suitable for the patient. A dental bridge consists of a pontic (artificial tooth) held in place by dental crowns placed over the adjacent healthy teeth.

Benefits of fixed dental bridges include:

  • Bridges Restore Dental Function

Dental bridges restore the ability to chew, speak, and maintain proper oral hygiene. They distribute the force evenly across adjacent teeth, preventing undue strain on individual teeth.

  • Faster Treatment Time

Compared to dental implants, fixed bridges require a shorter treatment period. The procedure typically involves two or three dental visits, making it a quicker option for tooth replacement.

  • Cost-Effective Solution

Fixed dental bridges are generally more affordable than dental implants, making them an accessible solution for many patients.

Removable Dentures

Removable dentures have been a traditional option for replacing missing teeth for centuries, although the equipment and materials have drastically improved (this is a good thing!). They consist of a gum-colored base with artificial teeth attached and are held in place either by suction against the gums or with the assistance of dental adhesives.

Benefits of removable dentures include:

  • Versatility

Dentures can replace multiple missing teeth in the upper or lower arch, or both. They are a suitable option for patients with multiple missing teeth or those with insufficient bone density for implants.

  •  They’re Non-Invasive

Removable dentures do not require surgical procedures, making them an attractive option for patients who prefer a less invasive solution.

  • Improved Aesthetics and Confidence

Dentures can significantly improve the appearance of your smile and restore your confidence when interacting with others.

Restorative dentistry offers several effective ways to replace missing teeth, ranging from the advanced stability of dental implants to the traditional versatility of removable dentures. Each method has its unique benefits and considerations, and the most suitable option depends on factors such as bone health, overall oral condition, and personal preferences. Be sure to contact us to connect with your Chandler restorative dentist when you’re ready to determine the ideal solution for your specific needs and regain your beautiful smile.

6 Common Insurance Scams

insurance scams, hire a corporate investigator

According to the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud (CAIF), insurance scams cost Americans over $300 billion annually. These scams can take various forms and can be perpetrated by both individuals and organized groups. Here are six common insurance scams to be aware of, personally and professionally.

Staged Accidents

Staged accidents are pretty self-explanatory and pretty common nowadays. In this type of scam, individuals deliberately cause accidents or stage fake accidents to make fraudulent insurance claims. The planned accidents may involve multiple vehicles or innocent victims who are unaware of the fraudulent intent, so multiple injuries may occur in the process. The fraudsters then submit claims for property damage, injuries, or medical expenses.

Fake or Exaggerated Injuries

Fake claims are serious business considering experienced fraudsters often know how to make them seem real on record or in court. Therefore, some individuals may fabricate or exaggerate injuries following a genuine accident or even fake injuries altogether. They may seek unnecessary medical treatment or provide false medical documentation to support their claims, aiming to receive higher compensation from insurance companies.

Insurance Premium Fraud

This type of scam targets insurance providers directly. Fraudsters may create fictitious insurance companies or agents, offering policies at extremely low rates or promising exaggerated coverage. They collect premiums from unsuspecting customers but provide no coverage which, in turn, results in no insurance protection for their victims. There’s also an extension of this type of fraud called premium diversion. According to the FBI, this is the most common type of insurance fraud since it involves internal embezzling within the insurance companies. In this type of insurance fraud, the insurance agent pockets the premium money they’re paid rather than sending it to the underwriter.

Arson and Property Damage

Arson and property damage scam involve intentionally setting fire to property or causing deliberate damage to collect insurance money. Perpetrators may target their own personal property and business, but they may also collaborate with others to carry out larger-scale frauds. This type of scam is illegal, but it can also be incredibly dangerous.

Identity Theft and Fraudulent Policies

Identity theft is a common concern, but it can extend to insurance fraud. In this case, criminals may steal another person’s identity and use it to purchase insurance policies. They can then file fraudulent claims for accidents or damages that never occurred. This scam can result in a financial loss not only for the victim whose identity was stolen but also for the insurance company.

Health Insurance Fraud

Health insurance scams involve various schemes to defraud health insurance providers. These can include billing for services not rendered, overbilling, or providing unnecessary medical treatments. Fraudsters may also engage in prescription fraud, where they obtain and sell prescription medications illegally.

The above are just a few examples of insurance scams, and new options emerge over time. But regardless of the scam, it almost always costs companies and their clients extra money in the long run. Insurance companies have measures in place to detect and investigate potential fraud, but it’s often not enough to catch some of the more dedicated criminals. Be sure to contact us when you’re ready to hire a corporate investigator who can do a lot more than wait or prepare for the next attack on your business.

5 Steps to Follow When Cleaning Gutters

cleaning gutters, professional roofing contractor

Cleaning gutters is an essential maintenance task to protect your home from water damage and ensure proper drainage. But how do you start? Follow these five steps, and you’ll always be ahead of the game when it comes to cleaning your gutters.

Secure the Necessary Tools and Safety Equipment

Before you begin cleaning your gutters, gather the required tools, including a sturdy ladder, work gloves, a trowel or scoop, a bucket or tarp to collect debris, and a garden hose with a spray nozzle. Ensure that the ladder is in good condition and placed on stable ground.

Safely Access the Gutters

Set up the ladder near the section of the gutter you plan to start cleaning. Make sure the ladder is secure and stable. Consider having a spotter or using ladder stabilizers for added safety. Always maintain three points of contact on the ladder, such as two feet and one hand, while ascending and working on it. Enlist someone to help if safety’s a concern, or contact a professional roofing contractor to get the job done easily.

Remove Debris

Use a trowel or scoop to remove leaves, twigs, and other debris from the gutter channels. Start at a downspout and work your way along the gutter length. Place the debris in a bucket or on a tarp to avoid creating a mess on the ground or damaging your landscaping. That also ensures quick and easy cleanup.

Clear Clogs and Downspouts

Blocked or clogged gutters are common year-round. If you encounter any clogs or blockages, use the trowel or scoop to dislodge the debris. You can also flush the gutters with water using a garden hose with a spray nozzle to clear out smaller obstructions. Check the downspouts for blockages and use a plumber’s snake or a pressure washer if necessary to remove any debris. If the clog still doesn’t budge, it may be time to call in the pros.

Rinse Gutters and Check for Leaks

Once the gutters are clear of debris and any clogs are removed, use the garden hose to rinse the gutters. Start from the far end opposite the downspout and work your way towards it. This step helps ensure proper water flow and allows you to check for any leaks or damaged sections of the gutter system. If you notice leaks, make a note to repair or replace the affected areas.

Many people opt to check and clean their gutters only once a year, and that’s where trouble starts. It’s important to clean your gutters at least twice a year, typically in the spring and fall, or more frequently if you have trees near your home that shed leaves and debris. Regular maintenance will help prevent water damage, mold growth, and other issues caused by clogged gutters. If you’re uncomfortable with heights or unsure about performing the task, there’s absolutely no shame in hiring a professional gutter cleaning service. In fact, it could save your home and sanity. Contact us today to talk to a professional roofing contractor to ensure the job is done safely and effectively.

Looking for a Graduation Gift? 3 Cosmetic Dental Treatments for the Win!

cosmetic dental treatments, Chandler dentist

Unless you’re especially creative or have money to burn, finding the perfect graduation gift for your favorite upcoming graduate can be a daunting experience. Fortunately, it can be a hit right off the bat. The right gift can even leave them smiling for years to come. If you’re looking for a graduation gift that focuses on cosmetic dental treatments, here are three options that could be a great choice.

Teeth Whitening

A brighter smile can significantly affect a person’s appearance and confidence. Professional teeth whitening treatments can help remove stains and discoloration, leaving the teeth several shades lighter. How many shades? Well, that depends on the whitening plan agreed upon by the patient and dentist to create a natural-looking improvement. Various options are available, including in-office treatments or take-home kits provided by a dentist. Moreover, professional teeth whitening is one of the most affordable cosmetic dentistry options that provide quick and long-lasting results worth smiling about.

Dental Veneers

If you’ve ever marveled at the perfect smiles of a Hollywood A-lister or your favorite influencer, you may be surprised to learn that they probably didn’t win the genetic dental lottery. But chances are, their cosmetic dental treatments, including veneers, have enraptured you. Dental veneers are thin shells made of porcelain or composite resin that are placed over the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance. They can address issues such as chipped, stained, or misaligned teeth, and provide a natural-looking, enhanced smile. Veneers can be customized to achieve the desired shape, size, and color of the teeth. The procedure takes a few visits, but

they’re worth the time and effort for the customization options alone.

Invisalign

Metal braces are a great solution for those with serious orthodonture issues, but they’re not for everyone. If the person you’re gifting has misaligned or crooked teeth and desires a straighter smile without the visibility of traditional braces, Invisalign could be an excellent choice. Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually shift the teeth into the desired position. It offers a more discreet and comfortable alternative to traditional braces while still achieving a straighter smile. Invisalign corrects most bite issues for teens and adults alike. And the procedure can be the perfect solution for those who love to socialize online or in person, take loads of pictures with their friends, play sports, or even work in front of a camera. Invisalign needs to be worn consistently, at least 21+ hours per day. But the flexibility and freedom of the procedure can make even the saltiest sourpuss purr like a pussycat.

The suitability of these treatments depends on the individual’s dental condition and goals. So be sure to consult with a qualified dentist or orthodontist to determine the most appropriate treatment option and to ensure it aligns with the recipient’s dental needs and desires. But once you know for sure, or at least have a strong suspicion, contact your Chandler dentist to schedule an appointment and finally give the perfect graduation gift worth smiling about.

6 Risks of Hiring a Private Investigator

hiring a private investigator, experienced private investigator

A competent and experienced private investigator can be an asset to your life in multiple ways, but all PIs are not equal. Hiring a private investigator can offer various benefits, but it’s essential to consider the potential risks involved. So before diving headfirst into such a situation, consider the following possible risks involved with hiring the wrong investigator, team, or service.

Legal and Ethical Concerns

Private investigators are not lawyers or police officers, but they must still adhere to laws and regulations governing their profession. However, if they engage in illegal or unethical activities during their investigations, it can lead to legal consequences for both the investigator and the organization that hired them. It’s crucial to thoroughly vet the investigator and ensure they have a proper license and a solid reputation. If any private investigator claims they can work outside the legal channels or bend the local laws, run.

Invasion of Privacy

Private investigators often need to gather information by conducting surveillance, background checks, or interviewing individuals. There is a risk that these activities may infringe on the privacy of the subject or unrelated individuals. It’s important to ensure that the investigator operates within legal boundaries and respects the privacy rights of individuals during the investigation.

Reputation Damage

Public or general knowledge that an organization has hired a private investigator to investigate workers’ compensation claims could negatively impact its reputation among employees, customers, and the general public. Employees may feel their privacy is violated, leading to a loss of trust and decreased morale within the organization. Care should be taken to handle investigations discreetly and maintain confidentiality, and the right PI or investigation team will guarantee and ensure necessary discretion and privacy.

Inaccurate or Incomplete Information

Private investigators are not infallible, and there is always a risk of gathering inaccurate or incomplete information during an investigation. Reliance on faulty or incomplete evidence can lead to misguided decisions and potential harm to innocent parties. It’s crucial to critically evaluate the investigator’s findings and cross-reference them with other available information.

Cost Considerations

Hiring a private investigator can be expensive, especially if the investigation is complex or time-consuming. There may be additional expenses involved, such as surveillance equipment, travel costs, and research fees. It’s important to weigh the potential benefits against the costs and consider whether alternative methods of investigation, such as internal resources or legal consultation, may be more cost-effective. However, if an offer is “too good to be true”, it should be recognized as a red flag.

Lack of Control and Oversight

When you hire a private investigator, you are essentially entrusting an external party with sensitive information and decision-making authority. It’s important to establish clear guidelines, expectations, and communication channels to maintain control and oversight over the investigation process. Regular updates and reports from the investigator can help ensure transparency and mitigate risks.

To mitigate these risks, it is crucial to thoroughly research and select a reputable and licensed private investigator with experience in workers’ compensation investigations. Additionally, consult with legal professionals to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations throughout the investigation process. You can easily cut to the chase and contact us directly to connect with an experienced private investigator who fits the bill.

No Age Limit with Invisalign for Adults

Invisalign for adults, Invisalign dentist

It’s not unusual to see adolescents and adults wearing traditional metal braces nowadays. But they’re still seen by many as a teenager’s rite of passage. In comparison, the overall age neutrality of the procedure surprises most adults who opt for Invisalign. But why is that the case? In short, Invisalign does not have a specific age limit because the treatment is based on the individual’s dental condition and overall oral health rather than their age. But here are a few specific reasons why there is no age limit with Invisalign for adults.

Aesthetic Appeal

Most Invisalign patients opt for the procedure because of its convenience and aesthetic value. Invisalign aligners are made of clear, nearly invisible plastic, making them a popular choice among adults who may feel self-conscious about wearing traditional metal braces. Regardless of whether an adult patient is 18 or 88, the discreet nature of Invisalign aligners makes them appealing to individuals of all ages.

Comfort and Convenience

Invisalign aligners are custom-made to fit each patient’s teeth comfortably. They are smooth and do not have wires or brackets that can cause irritation or discomfort. The aligners are removable, allowing patients to eat, drink, brush, and floss with ease. Unlike traditional braces, there are no food restrictions or limitations in most cases with Invisalign. However, a responsible dentist will encourage moderate snacking or treat consumption. These conveniences surrounding non-restricted eating and easy home dental hygiene make Invisalign suitable for individuals of any age group.

Oral Health Benefits

No one’s born with perfect teeth, so any perfect smile you happen to see has likely had multiple dental or orthodontic treatments. While aesthetics may seem like the main reason to fix crooked, jagged, or misaligned teeth, the conditions can actually lead to oral health problems, regardless of a person’s age. Invisalign can correct these issues, improving oral hygiene and reducing the risk of tooth decay, gum disease, and abnormal wear on teeth. Without Invisalign or proper treatment, abnormal teeth wear often leads to nighttime teeth grinding and Temporomandibular joint dysfunction which can be a huge headache to deal with on its own.

Health Considerations

Misaligned teeth can cause ongoing problems that can result in pain, discomfort, headaches, lockjaw, and other unnecessary ailments. In some cases, dental misalignments can cause functional problems such as difficulties with biting, chewing, or speaking. Invisalign can help address these issues and improve overall oral function for patients who choose the aligners for that purpose, regardless of age.

Orthodontic treatments aren’t just for kids. Adults can and should prioritize themselves and their dental needs to ensure proper dental health and improve their self-esteem. There are many practical and personal reasons to consider Invisalign over traditional or other types of braces for your teeth restoration and correction needs. However, it’s always important to consult with an orthodontist or Invisalign dentist who is experienced in providing Invisalign treatment. Give your Chandler, AZ dentist us a call when you’re ready to take the next step. We can evaluate your specific dental needs and determine if Invisalign is the right option for you, regardless of your age.

Benefits of Attic Insulation

attic insulation the modern pros

An attic can be a great bonus or focal point when buying or selling a home. The extra space, potential living space, and aesthetic value can easily transform a simple house into a real home. But unless it’s properly insulated, you could also expect future headaches. Attic insulation can provide a range of benefits. But what are they?

Energy Savings

According to the Energy Information Administration, projected electrical costs nationwide are expected to rise slowly over the next several years. However, utility costs rose a whopping 14.3% between 2021 and 2022. That’s double the amount of inflation. Any type of consistent cost-reduction effort can lead to significant savings. Insulating your attic can help reduce the heat that escapes from your home during the winter, and keep your home cooler in the summer, which can easily lower your heating and cooling bills.

Increased Comfort

If your home is drafty or regularly fluctuates in temperature, it could be due to the need for proper insulation in your attic. Heat rises, and it can easily escape through an uninsulated room or attic. By reducing heat transfer, insulation can help keep your home at a more consistent temperature, eliminating hot and cold spots and improving overall comfort. While cool air doesn’t rise as significantly, it can still escape if insulation isn’t intact.

Reduced Noise

Unless you live in the middle of the woods in complete silence, chances are outdoor noises have bothered someone in your home. Traffic, road construction, line workers, airplanes, and even neighbors playing music or hosting seasonal barbecues can affect you inside your own home. Insulation can also help reduce outside noise by absorbing those sound waves, making your home quieter and more peaceful.

Extended Roof Life

Winter in the Midwest is especially rough on homes. The weight of accumulated snow can cause materials to shift and bow, but the snow alone isn’t the worst part–it’s the ice. As the snow melts and re-accumulates, the water thaws and refreezes. Without proper insulation and roof repairs, that water can seep beneath your external materials. That ice then forms and expands inside your home. Once the ice melts, guess where it drips and collects? Inside your home. That can lead to all sorts of other problems, including decay, pests, and mold. Insulation helps regulate the temperature in your attic, which can prevent ice dams from forming on your roof during the winter, reducing the risk of roof damage.

Better Indoor Air Quality

According to the EPA, Americans spend approximately 90% of their time indoors. And indoor air pollution can be up to 5 times worse than outdoor pollution concentrations. Insulation can help prevent moisture buildup in your attic, which can reduce the risk of mold and mildew growth and improve indoor air quality.

Environmentally friendly insulation doesn’t just reduce energy costs. Insulating your home is an environmentally friendly choice as it reduces the amount of energy required to heat or cool your home, thus reducing carbon emissions and your environmental footprint. Be sure to contact Modern Pros when you’re ready to get a quote for attic insulation.

4 Reasons to Feel Lucky with Invisalign

lucky with Invisalign impressions dental

Traditional metal braces are a go-to for many adolescents and even adults with moderate to severe orthodontic concerns. However, there are alternatives, such as Invisalign, to getting a perfect smile without feeling like you’ve lost the lottery in the process. But what are some reasons that may help you feel lucky with Invisalign

Aesthetic Angle

Unlike traditional metal braces or even “clear” braces, Invisalign is virtually invisible. This means that you can straighten your teeth without any type of bracket, wire, or cement fixture on your teeth. In fact, no one has to know that you are wearing the aligners unless you decide to tell them. This is a huge advantage for people who are self-conscious about their appearance or who work in professions where appearance is important. It’s also a huge bonus for socially active teens or adults who don’t want metal braces to steal the show during a first impression or even while on a date.

Continual Comfort

Invisalign aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable thermoplastic material called SmartTrack. The multilayer polyurethane/co-polyester is safe for dental needs and created to be comfortable while repairing a number of bite or visual concerns. Unlike traditional metal braces, they don’t have any sharp or protruding edges that can irritate your mouth or cause discomfort. This means that you can wear them for extended periods without experiencing any discomfort.

Freedom and Convenience

Braces are fantastic for repairing dental issues over time, but there are a lot of rules during the procedure, especially when it comes to food. They can also be difficult to clean, get food stuck in the brackets, build up bacteria and decay in the mouth, and even leave stains on the teeth, which result in more dental visits. Invisalign aligners, on the other hand, are removable, which means that you can take them out to eat, brush your teeth, floss, and clean the aligners before replacing them in your mouth. This makes it much easier to maintain good oral hygiene during your orthodontic treatment. It also means that you don’t have to make any major dietary changes, as you would with traditional braces. So popcorn, candy, and even chewing gum can still be enjoyed within reason.

Faster Results

The procedure time for traditional braces varies depending on the individual’s needs. But most issues regarding spacing or overcrowding concerns take a minimum of 36 months. In many cases, Invisalign treatment can be completed in a shorter period of time than traditional braces. This is because the aligners are designed to gradually move your teeth into their correct positions over time rather than clamp and require mechanical repairs throughout the procedure time. Invisalign aligners allow your teeth to shift more naturally and the aligners need less attention from your orthodontist. That means that you may be able to achieve your desired results in as little as 12-18 months.

Need a Roof Replacement? 5 Cost Factors to Think About

Regardless of whether you own a home or a commercial business, at some point, you’ll probably need to consider roof replacement. This is especially true in the Midwest, where the weather can quickly wreak havoc on external structures. But before diving into the first “deal” you find, consider some of the cost factors involved with replacing your roof so you’re not taken by surprise or, even worse, choose the wrong roofing contractor in Michigan.

Home Size and Shape

Homes and businesses can have varying roof shapes, which affect overall roof replacement costs. Issues such as the slope or pitch of the roof, roof accessibility, and actual square footage of the roof can require significantly more materials and labor. If safety is a concern, your hired contractor may need an extra worker or even a team of contractors to help them complete the job.

Types of Damage and Structural Problems

Your chosen roofing contractor in Michigan will need to know what type of damage and potential structural problems occur. Damage may be limited to moderate winds, fallen limbs, or even minimal water damage. But heavy water damage, ice dams, and other weather-related or structural issues may cause extra labor, extended work times, and far more replacement materials. Survey the issues from ground level and get closer to take pictures if safety isn’t an issue. The more a contractor knows about the repair needs upfront, the more likely they’ll be to provide a relatively cost estimate.

The Extent of Existing Roofing Materials and Required Demolition

You may not know how many layers of roofing materials are on your home or business roof, but knowing that upfront will help with cost estimates. If you have multiple layers to your roof, that will extend the demolition time. But don’t worry if you’re not immediately aware of that information since a good roofing contractor can discover that for you. Just be wary of any contractor who claims it’s okay to install new shingles or other materials over worn roofing materials. That will probably lead to extensive rot or other damage, which will lead to more structural damage and higher repair costs later.

Preferred Roofing Materials

One of the biggest cost factors for replacing your roof will be the materials the homeowner and contractor agree to use. If you don’t care what materials are used or if you want to go as cheap as possible, a good contractor may suggest asphalt or specially treated fiberglass shingles. But if you decide you want wood or slate shingles, expect the final costs to swell, especially compared to an estimate that didn’t originally include those high-end materials.

Extra Installation Requirements

Roof replacements and repairs don’t always just include roofing materials. Sometimes the customer needs a special coating or waterproof barrier. Perhaps they also want a skylight installed. Often, gutters and shingles also need to be replaced. Know what extra installation options you need or want and expect the overall costs to reflect those decisions. Call us when you’re ready to discuss those needs with a roofing contractor in Michigan, and we’ll help you make the best decisions for your situation.

4 Questions to Ask Before You Hire a Roofer

hire a roofer

Hire a roofer like a pro and never waste your time, energy, and money again. Just follow these tips and questions to ask a roofing contractor in Michigan.

Just like the rest of your home, your roof requires occasional care and maintenance. Ignoring your roof needs and repairs can lead to heartache, headaches, and serious financial strain down the road. But hiring the wrong contractor to do the repairs can be an epic failure from start to finish. Before you hire a roofer, be sure to ask the following questions.

Are You Licensed and Insured?

A competent roofing company must have a valid license that proves the workers are properly trained and have the experience needed to perform the required tasks to code. Proof of liability insurance and workers comp insurance can also be provided by the company to prove the client is covered from potential job-related damage and the workers are also covered in the event of accidents or injuries. A good roofing company should also inform the potential client of any permits the homeowner needs to secure and provide a checklist of cleanup and removal services included or as needed.

How Long Have You Been in Business?

Loads of new or more recent contractors or companies offer great “deals” for potential new customers. But those can often come with expensive mistakes and cut corners that the customer will eventually have to pay for themselves. Always opt for companies that have years of experience with the jobs you require. Moreover, don’t just rely on their word… do some research yourself. Check their website, double-check their BBB listing, and Google their employees to verify the listed credentials match. It doesn’t take long, but it can save you tons of time, money, and headaches in the long run.

Do You Have References?

Content, loyal, and repeat customers are any company’s bread and butter. So if a company or contractor claims they don’t have references on hand or that they can’t provide references, thank them for their time and run away. They’re not worth your attention. A legitimate roofing contractor in Michigan should have references for previous jobs similar to the one you need to be done. Some of those references should be recent work or completions, within 3-6 months at least. Look for reviews and testimonials posted on the website. Comprehensive reviews (those that aren’t necessarily glowing 5 stars) should be listed as well. The company or website should also be able to direct you to current reviews of the business and to their own Better Business Bureau listing and other relevant certifications or distinctions.

What Are Your Service and Product Warranties?

Most professional roofing materials such as shingles come with their own manufacturing warranties. However, a professional roofer or roofing company also may offer a warranty for the labor involved. Always confirm all warranties involved in your project, and be sure you understand and get those terms and promises in writing. If your shingles wear out in five years, who’s responsible for the repairs? If your gutters fall off or the external painting chips in a year, will the company come out and fix them for free? Never settle for less than you deserve. Call us when you’re ready to hire a roofer.
